Green Cross Sri Lanka is planning to implement the 4th Water Project by collaborating with the Embassy of Japan in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka which provided a grant through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) for “Project for Providing Clean Water Supply System at Lahugala of Maha Oya Divisional Secretariat, Ampara District”.
In accordance, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Green Cross Sri Lanka and Maha Oya Pradeshiya Sabawa on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at KIU. This occasion was presided over by Wimalaweera Dissanayake, the Minister of Wildlife. Green Cross Sri Lanka, represented by President of Green Cross Sri Lanka Dr. Jagath Seneviratne, and the Maha Oya Pradeshiya Sabawa, represented by the Chairman of Maha Oya Pradeshiya Sabawa, Mr. Indika Nishantha and Secretary of Maha Oya PS. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding occurred for providing portable pipe born water to a total of 416 families residing at Lahugala administered by Maha Oya Pradeshiya Sabawa.
