Donation of Healthcare Facility (Toilets) for St. Mary’s College, Moratuwa - 2017
The Green Lane Diary Program on writing the diaries by the students of Grade V at selected schools in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara took place, and the Mitsubishi Corporation of Colombo Branch funded the project continuously. In addition, Mitsubishi Corporation proposed to conduct a welfare Program for selected schools of the Western province to donate Healthcare Facility.

As a decision taken by Mitsubishi Sri Lanka in 2016, St. Mari’s College at Moratuwa was selected to donate Healthcare Facility. It is a school attended by very poor students of the area without proper educational facilities. At present 96 students are studying in this primary school. Students were given 5 toilets but they could only use three toilets and the other two were completely damaged and not suitable for use. The total number of teachers was 8 and they were compelled to use a partially damaged toilet.
As intimated earlier the healthcare Facility program constructed by Green Cross Sri Lanka at St. Mari’s College, Moratuwa and it was completed within a period of twelve days. In this connection, the facility was opened by Ms.Hasitha Walpola who is the Assistant Director of Green Cross Sri Lanka for use by the students on 09th February 2017.

This is indeed a very beneficial facility for the students, and they appreciate very much the work carried out by our Organization.
In fact, the principal and the teachers along with the students wanted to thank us and donors for the construction of the toilet and healthcare facility for the usage of students.
