Green Cross Sri Lanka Children’s Environmental Trip – Seethawaka Botanical Garden & Seethawaka Miracle Hotel

Date: 22 December 2025

Green Cross Sri Lanka successfully conducted a Children’s Environmental Trip to the Seethawaka Botanical Garden and Seethawaka Miracle Hotel on 22 December 2025. The program was organized under the guidance of Ms. Thishani Rodrigo, Director of Green Cross Sri Lanka. The trip provided students with the opportunity to connect with nature, learn about environmental conservation, and engage in both educational and recreational activities. Although one student was unable to attend due to personal reasons, the program was completed as planned.

At Seethawaka Botanical Garden, students observed a wide variety of plant species and participated in a guided nature walk, enhancing their knowledge of the environment and biodiversity. The group then visited Seethawaka Miracle Hotel, where they were welcomed with refreshments and later enjoyed a well-arranged lunch. Afternoon recreational activities such as badminton and table tennis promoted teamwork, healthy interaction, and physical activity among the children.

The event concluded with evening tea and a reflection session, during which students shared their experiences and learning outcomes. Participants returned home with memorable and meaningful environmental learning experiences.

Green Cross Sri Lanka is part of the global Green Cross network consisting of 30 entities worldwide, all committed to promoting environmental protection, sustainability, and education among younger generations.
